Enjoy the great outdoors at any of Tifton's exciting attractions or recreation spots. Tee up, slide down, or fish all around as you breathe in our clean, temperate air. Don't forget to make the most of our agricultural expertise. Get the kids down and dirty at a u-pick farm and take away juicy peaches, sweet strawberries, plump tomatoes, and bushels of other seasonal delicacies.

 

Georgia Agrirama Living History Museum

When you visit the historic Agrirama, you journey back to another time, and for a little while, enjoy exploring a different and more peaceful world. Discover the 19th century living history museum with its two working farmsteads, cotton gin, sawmill, grist mill, print shop, drug store Masonic lodge, Victorian home, steam train, and country store. Costumed interpreters share Georgia's rural heritage with visitors.

Open year-round from Tuesday through Saturday — closed Sunday, Monday, New Year's Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and December 22-25 of each year. Attraction parking is free. Call for information on full-service overnight recreational vehicle parking. Group rates are available for parties of 20 or more.

Friendly City Park/E.B. Hamilton Softball Complex

Softball and soccer fields, picnic area, lake, playground, and outdoor pavilion. Located at King Road and Rutland Road in Tifton.

Fulwood Garden Center

Beautiful southern home and garden of the early 1900's. Home to Tifton garden clubs and a popular site for special occasions. Indoor and outdoor settings provide room for small gatherings including receptions and parties. Located in Tifton's historic district. Located at West 12th Street in Tifton at the corner of 12th Street and Fulwood Boulevard.

Fulwood Park

Established in 1916, this 28-acre city park is named after C.W. Fulwood, an early settler of Tift County. The park sports a large playground, picnic pavilions, fields, and restrooms. Special events and concerts are held throughout the year on the outdoor Syd Blackmarr Stage. Located on the block surrounded by Tift Avenue, 8th Street, Old Ocilla Road, and 12th Street.

As the "Turf Grass Capital of the World," Tifton is home to four scenic and challenging golf courses.

Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site

Visitors can tour this 13-acre historic site that marks the capture of President Jefferson Davis of the Confederate States. Includes a Civil War Museum, monuments, ¼-mile nature trail, 10 picnic sites, group shelter, and gift shop.

The site is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; closed Monday (except holidays), Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day; closed Tuesday when open Monday. Admission is $1.50-$2.50 with group rates available with advance notice. Located 15 miles off Interstate 75 at Exit 78.

Ken's Hatchery & Fish Farm/River Oaks Plantation

See breeding ponds for Georgia Giant Hybrid 5-Pound Bream and learn about the largest frog growing operation in North America! Hunt 600-pound wild hog on River Oaks Plantation. Both located just 15 miles east of Tifton in Alapaha, Georgia.

Paradise Public Fishing Area

Paradise PFA is a unique combination of 71 lakes and ponds totaling 550 acres of water, 568 acres of forested land, and 123 acres of open fields and roads. Managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the area is also a paradise for those looking for an unforgettable wildlife viewing experience. Paradise Public Fishing Area is located 8 miles east of Tifton on the Brookfield-Nashville Road, off US Highway 82 near Brookfield, Georgia. Directions are well-marked on US Hwy 82.

Tift County Recreation Department Facilities

The Tift County Recreation Department maintains an outdoor aquatic facility, tennis and basketball courts, various sports fields, exercise tracks, and enclosed gymnasiums. Available for public use.

Veterans Memorial Park

Pay tribute to those who served our country. Tifton's Veterans Memorial Park has a garden, mini-amphitheatre, monuments, and an actual war tank. This beautiful spot is located in Downtown Tifton across from the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce on Central Avenue.
